Turkmen-Hungarian Economic Cooperation Commission Meeting

On September 29–30, 2025, the sixth meeting of the Turkmen–Hungarian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Ashgabat. The meeting was attended by heads of state institutions and representatives of the business communities of both countries.

The agenda included a wide range of issues related to political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation, as well as identifying new opportunities for partnership.

During the meeting, the parties discussed cooperation in key areas such as agriculture, food industry, water resource management, environmental protection, healthcare, and the pharmaceutical industry. They also exchanged views on expanding collaboration in science, education, culture, sports, and tourism.

Both sides emphasized the importance of signing the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments in the near future. This document will help strengthen economic cooperation and create a legal framework for the inflow of Hungarian investments into Turkmenistan.

The participants highlighted the need to maintain regular meetings and consultations. They expressed confidence that the agreements reached during the current session will contribute to further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Turkmenistan and Hungary.

At the end of the meeting, the Protocol of the sixth session was signed, and the parties agreed to hold the seventh meeting of the Commission in Budapest.
