On October 14, 2025, in New York City, during the 18th plenary meeting of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, the Resolution titled “Awaza Political Declaration” was reviewed and unanimously adopted. This was reported by the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The document was adopted under agenda item 13, titled “Integrated and coordinated implementation of and follow-up to the outcomes of the major United Nations conferences and summits in the economic, social and related fields”, with the co-sponsorship of 57 states.

The “Awaza Political Declaration” consolidates the key outcomes and strategic directions set out in the Awaza Programme of Action for 2024–2034, and was adopted as a result of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held under the chairmanship of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in the Awaza National Tourist Zone.

The Resolution emphasizes the importance of international solidarity in strengthening the economic potential of landlocked developing countries and their integration into the world economy. It also highlights the significance of developing sustainable transport systems, digital and energy infrastructure, trade, and environmental cooperation.

The adoption of the “Awaza Political Declaration” marks another significant recognition of Turkmenistan’s high international standing and its leading role in promoting the principles of permanent neutrality, peace, trust, and cooperation at the global level.
