At the inaugural Central Asia – European Union Summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the strong potential for cooperation between Central Asia and the European Union. He identified key areas for collaboration, including the economy, investment, energy, transport, and trade.

"The Turkmenistan government is committed to establishing a serious energy dialogue with the EU at a new, substantive level and is prepared to take practical steps," said the President, extending an invitation to European partners for a thorough discussion on partnership opportunities in the field of renewable energy. Also expressed readiness to initiate joint projects in "green energy" and explore prospects for cooperation in wind and solar energy, as well as hydrogen energy.

President Berdimuhamedov highlighted the importance of developing East-West and West-East transport and communication routes as a cornerstone of strategic cooperation.
