The fourth regional forum of the Organization of Asia-Pacific World Heritage Cities was held from October 10 to 13 in the South Korean city of Gyeongju. A delegation from the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan took part in the event.
During the forum, the Turkmen side presented a report on the historical and cultural heritage of the ancient city of Koneurgench, whose architectural masterpieces and monuments are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
A video about the history and modern development of Turkmenistan and the country’s tourism opportunities was also shown, according to the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The regional conference was devoted to the topic of using tangible and intangible cultural heritage to enhance the potential of cities included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
