Training Skilled Personnel for High-Tech Sectors in Turkmenistan

Technological innovations and the training of qualified personnel for Turkmenistan’s industrial sector were the main topics of the fifth session of the international conference “Technological Innovations and Training of Personnel for Construction, Industry, and Energy in Turkmenistan,” held on November 5, 2024, in Ashgabat. Participants highlighted the significance of initiatives by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which emphasize the importance of integrating the education system with science and production.

Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev presented the introduction of an entrepreneurial model in the country’s universities aimed at commercializing students’ scientific research. He also proposed the creation of industrial councils at universities to expand collaboration with employers and government agencies.

Universities showcased successful examples of research in biotechnology, renewable energy, and digital technologies and invited businesses to cooperate in developing joint projects.

The session reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening the link between universities and industry, which will boost the competitiveness of Turkmenistan's economy.
