Public diplomacy should serve as an important support to official diplomacy. This was stated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, in his speech at the international forum held in Ashgabat to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality.
Hero Arkadag emphasized that in today’s world, the promotion of the philosophy of Peace and Trust requires not only traditional diplomatic efforts, but also the use of dialogue formats, parliamentary channels, as well as the effective engagement of women’s and youth diplomacy.
Hero Arkadag noted that Turkmenistan is making significant efforts in this direction. In recent years, the country has hosted major events, including high-level international and regional forums. In this context, Turkmenistan proceeds from the understanding that public diplomacy, as an additional instrument capable of influencing political decision-making, should and can play a vital role in supporting official diplomacy.
