1,054 citizens pardoned in connection with Turkmenistan’s 35th anniversary of independence

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree pardoning convicted citizens in connection with the 35th anniversary of the country’s independence.

 

Under the decree, 1,054 citizens were granted a pardon. They were released from the primary sentence of imprisonment, as well as from the additional sentence requiring them to reside in a designated location.

 

At a Cabinet of Ministers meeting, a report was presented on the work carried out by the relevant commission on the matter. The President instructed the authorities to take the necessary measures to release the pardoned citizens and facilitate their prompt return to their families.

 

The pardon decree was issued in connection with the celebration of the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence.
