National Leader of the Turkmen People Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Delivers an Open Lecture for Youth

t the Palace of Ruhyyet in Arkadag City, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan and Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov delivered an open lecture for young people to mark the Day of Knowledge and Student Youth and the beginning of the new academic year.

 

The event was attended by young professionals, heads and teachers of higher education institutions, university students, schoolchildren and representatives of the mass media.

 

The lecture consisted of two parts. The first focused on the main directions of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy, the significance of the country’s permanent neutrality in international relations, peace-oriented initiatives and the development of cooperation between states.

 

The second part addressed the role of young people in society, education and professional training, patriotic education, respect for national values, and the acquisition of modern technological skills.

 

Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted the rapid development of digital technologies, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, emphasizing the importance of young people acquiring modern knowledge. It was noted that young people with broad horizons, innovative thinking and strong professional skills would play an important role in the country’s future development.

 

During the lecture, Hero-Arkadag also spoke about Turkmenistan’s opportunities in the transport, energy and international trade sectors. Particular attention was given to projects such as the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline, Trans-Caspian transport corridors and the restoration of the Great Silk Road.

 

The development of the “Smart Society” concept was also discussed, along with the establishment of educational and discussion centres and the expansion of international cooperation in science, education and youth affairs. The importance of young people’s active participation in research, new initiatives and startup projects was emphasized.

 

National history and cultural heritage also featured prominently in the lecture. Ancient cultural centres such as Jeitun, Anau, Margush, Altyndepe and Khorezm were discussed, with emphasis placed on the importance of young people gaining a deeper understanding of their history, national roots and cultural values.

 

The importance of education and upbringing within families and educational institutions was also highlighted. Particular attention was paid to the role of parents and teachers in helping the younger generation develop strong moral values, a sense of responsibility, diligence and patriotism.

 

The opening of the new academic year also provided an opportunity to highlight recent developments in the country’s education system. It was noted that new buildings for the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering in Ashgabat and the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute in Turkmenabat had been commissioned, along with new general education schools and kindergartens.

 

At the conclusion of the lecture, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished young people success in the new academic year, good health, significant achievements in their chosen professions and a meaningful contribution to the development of the country.
