Meetings in Avaza Brought Together Different Areas of International Cooperation

A series of international meetings, conferences and cultural events took place in the Avaza National Tourist Zone from October 7 to 9, 2026. Over the three days, representatives from various countries discussed healthcare, demographic development, the sustainable use of water resources, regional cooperation and cultural relations.

On October 7, an international dialogue on the role of women in maintaining peace and promoting sustainable development was held, alongside conferences addressing access to healthcare services. The discussions focused on improving public well-being, addressing key social challenges and sharing international experience.

Representatives of Central Asian countries also discussed the sustainable use of water resources from the Amu Darya and Syr Darya rivers. Key topics included coordinating cooperation in water management, making more efficient use of water resources and supporting sustainable development across the region.

On October 8, a consultative meeting of the heads of state of Central Asian countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan took place. The programme of international events also featured a festival of national cuisine from CIS countries and Iran, as well as a concert by cultural and artistic performers. These events gave participants an opportunity to explore the culinary traditions and cultural heritage of different nations.

On October 9, the regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held. Participants discussed key areas of cooperation within the Commonwealth and considered priorities for joint efforts in the coming period.

The diversity of events held in Avaza over the three days was particularly noteworthy. Alongside high-level meetings, participants addressed healthcare, demographic trends, water resources and cultural heritage. This demonstrated that international cooperation extends beyond economic and official relations to encompass a broad range of issues affecting society.

The events provided opportunities for specialists and representatives from different countries to exchange experience, discuss shared challenges and explore prospects for future cooperation.
