Turkmenistan's private enterprises Okgun and Halk Hazyna ES participated in the UzFood 2024 international trade exhibition in Tashkent from March 26 to 28, 2024, according to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on its official social media page. Both companies received support from the USAID entrepreneurship and business environment development project.
Okgun, specializing in confectionery production, held several meetings with potential buyers from various countries during the exhibition to explore export potential and opportunities to enter the markets of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan. Over 40 distribution companies from Uzbekistan and abroad showed interest in importing Okgun confectionery products and requested commercial proposals. Notably, prominent Uzbek retail chains such as Korzinka and Marko expressed interest in selling Okgun products.
On the other hand, Halk Hazyna, a leading manufacturer of plastic packaging under the brand Innovapak in Turkmenistan, engaged in discussions and explored cooperation opportunities with over 50 companies from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China. Representatives of the company held meetings with potential partners from Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan interested in importing packaging products branded as Innovapak. The UzFood 2024 international exhibition is a significant event in the food industry, annually attended by leading manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors of the food sector in Uzbekistan and abroad.
