On September 22, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov pardoned 1,180 prisoners during a meeting of the Council of Ministers in the presence of members of the State Security Council to mark the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.
During the meeting, the Honorable President of Turkmenistan directed the heads of law enforcement agencies to carry out important work to bring prisoners home to their families and take the necessary measures to employ the pardoned persons.
