On Friday, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held an expanded session of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital system. During the meeting, the deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and the minister of foreign affairs, R. Meredov, reported on the progress made in granting Turkmen citizenship and residence permits.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with other authorized state bodies, has processed the citizenship applications of 1,146 people residing in Turkmenistan, who belong to 29 different nationalities. Furthermore, 134 individuals, including citizens of six foreign countries and representatives of 15 nationalities, have submitted applications for residence permits.
In commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, drafts of documents related to granting citizenship and residence permits were presented to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for his review and consideration.
