“Ýigit” Economic Entity, located in Kaka District of Ahal Region, is expanding its greenhouse production, increasing tomato cultivation and developing the production of paprika, a variety of bell pepper. The company’s production results for 2025–2026 and plans for 2026–2027 are outlined in a press release published on the official website of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.

More Than 76,000 Tons of Tomatoes Produced

The company’s production figures for the previous harvest season demonstrate the scale of its tomato cultivation operations.

According to the press release, “Ýigit” Economic Entity produced more than 76,000 tons of tomatoes during the 2025–2026 harvest season. The produce was supplied to the domestic market, while surplus volumes were exported to foreign countries.

The production results highlight the importance of the company’s greenhouse capacity and the introduction of modern agricultural technologies.

The greenhouse complexes use automated irrigation and humidity-control, lighting and feeding systems that allow growing conditions for tomatoes to be closely monitored. These technologies help provide plants with the conditions they require and ensure the continuity of production processes.

Production Area to Exceed 350 Hectares

“Ýigit” Economic Entity plans to further increase its production capacity.

During the 2026–2027 harvest season, the company plans to expand its modern greenhouse complex and cultivate tomatoes on a total area of more than 350 hectares.

The implementation of this plan is expected to increase the company’s tomato production capacity, raise the volume of products supplied to the domestic market and create additional opportunities for exports.

Preparations for the new harvest season are already underway, with employees carrying out work to grow tomato seedlings under greenhouse conditions.

More Than 250,000 Tomato Seedlings Planted

According to the press release, more than 250,000 tomato seedlings have been raised as part of preparations for the new harvest season. The seedlings have been planted in greenhouses covering 10 hectares.

The seedlings are grown from seeds of high-yielding tomato varieties imported from the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Work to plant the seedlings in the greenhouses is continuing.

Thus, preparations for the new season cover not only the expansion of cultivation areas but also all stages of production, beginning with the preparation of planting material.

Dutch Expertise Introduced into Production

“Ýigit” Economic Entity is also placing emphasis on cooperation with foreign specialists to improve its production technologies.

The company’s employees exchange experience with foreign agricultural experts and scientists, particularly specialists from the Netherlands, on modern methods of tomato cultivation, increasing yields and introducing innovative technologies into production.

The use of seeds of high-yielding Dutch tomato varieties is also one aspect of this cooperation.

Alongside the effective use of greenhouse technologies, improving the expertise of specialists is considered important. Consultations, experience-sharing and efforts to improve production methods are therefore carried out on a regular basis.

50 Hectares Planned for Paprika Production

Paprika, a type of bell pepper, also occupies an important place in the production plans of “Ýigit” Economic Entity.

During the previous harvest season, paprika was grown on an experimental area of 5 hectares. The press release states that the trial produced a good harvest.

Based on these results, the company plans to expand the paprika cultivation area to 50 hectares in 2026.

Growing paprika under greenhouse conditions is among the approaches that can help reduce the dependence of production on seasonal conditions and allow closer control over product quality.

More Than 3,700 Young People Employed

Alongside the expansion of production, the company is also contributing to employment.

The press release states that more than 3,700 young people are fully employed at “Ýigit” Economic Entity.

This figure demonstrates that greenhouse production contributes not only to increasing agricultural output but also to creating employment opportunities.

Different stages of greenhouse production require the work of employees, from raising seedlings and caring for plants to harvesting and delivering finished products to the market.

Domestic Supply and Export

Alongside supplying the domestic market, “Ýigit” Economic Entity is also developing export-oriented production.

According to the press release, more than 76,000 tons of tomatoes produced during the 2025–2026 harvest season were supplied to domestic consumers, while the surplus was exported to foreign markets.

Increasing production capacity could further raise the volume of products supplied to the domestic market while creating additional export opportunities.

More than 250,000 tomato seedlings have been planted in greenhouse areas, while work to transfer seedlings to additional areas continues. At the same time, efforts are underway to increase the total production area to more than 350 hectares.

The company also plans to expand paprika production from the previous 5-hectare experimental stage to 50 hectares.
