On June 3, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia organized a bike ride dedicated to the World Bicycle Day.

The sports event was held in one of the cultural and recreational centres of Riyadh with the participation of representatives of the Humanitarian Association of World Turkmens, Turkmen diaspora in Saudi Arabia and guests of honour.

In frames of the briefing, held before the bike ride, it was underlined that this holiday was established by the UN General Assembly on the initiative of Turkmenistan that vividly demonstrates the international recognition of our country's achievements in the development of sports, including cycling, and the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

Particular attention was paid to the initiative approach of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to strengthening the role of sports diplomacy in international relations.

Then, the bike ride took place.

Upon the completion of the sports event, the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan organized a dinner on occasion of the end of the holy month of Oraza.
