Moscow hosts event honoring 2026 of Turkmenistan

On February 20, 2026, a ceremonial event was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation to mark the declaration of 2026 as the year of “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses,” as well as the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence. The event also featured the presentation of the new book by the President of Turkmenistan titled “Neutrality of Turkmenistan – A Clear Path to Peace and Trust.”

The ceremony brought together representatives of public and academic institutions, equestrian experts, members of the Turkmen diaspora, students, and media representatives. In his speech, Ambassador E. Aydogdyev highlighted that the 2026 motto reflects the country’s dynamic development and commitment to national values. He also emphasized the legal and political foundations of Turkmenistan’s neutrality and its role in strengthening peace and stability.

Turkmen students presented a literary and musical composition based on the poem “Rowach.” Russian equestrian specialists also spoke about the history and unique qualities of the Akhal-Teke horse, underlining its significance in world culture. Special attention was given to the inclusion of Akhal-Teke horse breeding art and traditions in UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

An exhibition was organized within the Embassy, showcasing books by the President and the National Leader, as well as photographs dedicated to the beauty of the Akhal-Teke horses. The event concluded with the performance of the song “Melegush.”
