On April 21, 2026, an international scientific conference titled “Independence of Turkmenistan: The Triumph of Science and Innovative Technologies” was held in Turkmenistan. The event took place in the conference hall of the International Scientific and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and brought together both local and foreign experts.
During the session, participants delivered presentations on the current state of science and technology, as well as future directions for development. In his opening remarks, the Director of the International Scientific and Technology Park of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Chemical Sciences Durdymyrat Gadamov, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of cooperation.
Several international experts also joined the conference online. Oleg Aleksandrin from the Russian Federation spoke about directions for developing an innovation-driven economy. Representatives from the People’s Republic of China, Zhang Xiao and Xiang Wei, highlighted opportunities for scientific and technical cooperation and stressed the importance of joint projects in the field of microbiology.
Digital economy issues were a key focus of the conference. Aleksey Soluyanov from Russia presented proposals related to Turkmenistan’s State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy for 2026–2028. Gulnara Abisheva from Kazakhstan emphasized the importance of training specialists and expanding expertise in this field.
The conference also featured extensive discussions on healthcare, information technology, and the service sector. Representatives from Türkiye, Enkhbaatar Uliibayar and Cem Gözener, shared their views on the role of digital technologies in medical services. Additionally, David Iordanishvili from Georgia highlighted opportunities to expand international cooperation through digital platforms.
Energy and industrial sectors were also among the key topics discussed. Experts from Türkiye, including Abdullah Örs, Nedim Baral, Orhan Gün, and Zafer Türkoglu, spoke about innovative approaches in the oil and gas industry and new methods for the efficient use of raw materials.
Throughout the conference, participants exchanged valuable ideas on strengthening scientific and technical cooperation, implementing innovative projects, and sharing expertise. In conclusion, it was emphasized that international collaboration plays a crucial role in the scientific and technological development of Turkmenistan.
