Celebrations of Turkmenistan’s 34th Independence Anniversary Held in Kazakhstan

On September 25, 2025, a solemn cultural event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence took place in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, in front of the monument of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Pyragy.

The event was organized with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Astana, as well as Turkmen public associations representing the diaspora abroad. It brought together the staff of the Embassy, representatives of the city administration, and Turkmen students studying at Kazakh universities.

During the ceremony, flowers were laid at the monument of Magtymguly Pyragy, and Turkmen students recited the poet’s works both in their original form and in translation.

The Independence Day celebrations continued in other cities as well, organized by the Consulates of Turkmenistan in Almaty and Aktau. Turkmen students performed the traditional dance “Küştdepdi” in the most prominent public places of these cities. The performance, rich in ancient melodies and national originality, vividly reflected the wealth of Turkmen folklore and was warmly received by the audience.

Under the motto of the “Year of International Peace and Trust,” the performances of Turkmen youth not only expressed pride in their cultural heritage but also carried a message of peace and friendship.
