Turkmenistan delegation took part in the 17th ECO summit

On July 4, 2025, in Khankendi, a Turkmen delegation led by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov participated in the 17th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), held under the theme “New ECO Vision for a Sustainable and Climate-Resilient Future,” according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. This was reported by Turkmenistan: Golden Age.

The summit was recognized as a key high-level forum for advancing multilateral collaboration, aligning joint efforts, and developing coordinated strategies aimed at achieving sustainable, inclusive, and balanced regional development.

In his address, Minister Meredov underscored the significance of adopting a new strategic document that will outline the objectives and priorities of ECO’s economic cooperation through 2035.

Turkmenistan reaffirmed its commitment to ECO’s multilateral principles and emphasized key areas of focus, including the establishment of efficient logistics corridors, diversification of energy supply routes, advancement of green energy, removal of trade barriers, promotion of investment, and enhanced collaboration in modern technologies and innovation.

In this regard, Turkmenistan proposed considering the creation of a mechanism for harmonizing the energy policies of ECO member states to ensure stable energy supplies and bolster regional energy security.

To further strengthen ECO’s transport and transit potential, it was also proposed to advance the integration of member countries’ transport and logistics infrastructure.

The importance of boosting direct interactions among business communities was highlighted, particularly through partnerships between chambers of commerce and industry.

Additionally, the delegation stressed that expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation would serve as a strong foundation for deeper regional integration and prosperity.

Summit participants agreed that the outcomes of the gathering would further enhance mutually beneficial cooperation among ECO member nations.
