"Lean-Startup" seminar held in Ashgabat provides young entrepreneurs with critical insights into modern startup methodologies and innovation principles. The meeting, featuring American expert Ronda Schroeder, further stimulated young people's interest in entrepreneurship.
On May 17, 2026, a training seminar was held at the central building of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan (UIET) for the youth entering the world of business and innovation. The event was primarily attended by enthusiastic young members of the "Young Entrepreneurs" Center under the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, startup project developers, and residents of Ashgabat. During the event, Ms. Ronda Schroeder, an American expert and the Executive Director of the Berkeley-Haas entrepreneurship program in California and the National Science Foundation's "I-Corps" program for the Bay Area nodes, shared her extensive experience.
This seminar was organized through the initiatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, upon the invitation of the Embassy of the United States of America in Ashgabat.
The main theme of the seminar was dedicated to the "Lean-Startup" methodology, which has gained immense popularity in the world's leading technology and business hubs. In her presentation, Ronda Schroeder extensively explained how to launch a new business project during its initial phase with minimal costs and low risks, as well as how to accurately analyze market demands. The "Lean-Startup" methodology was introduced as a modern tool that allows young entrepreneurs, in particular, to test and refine their projects in a short period of time without incurring major financial losses.
Young people keen on business from various parts of the country, students from different higher educational institutions, and early-stage entrepreneurs showed great interest in the seminar. During the interactive meeting, the youth asked the world-class expert questions of interest to them, specifically regarding accessing global markets, improving innovative products, and developing the startup ecosystem.
Such international events are a clear result of the state policy implemented in our country to develop youth entrepreneurship and innovation skills, as well as to strengthen the digital economy and the private sector. By mastering international practices, Turkmen youth will make their worthy contributions to further enhancing the economic power of our Motherland in the future.
