UN Resolution 2025: Turkmenistan's Peacebuilding initiatives

A major conference on international peace and trust was held in Turkmenistan recently.  Titled "Advancing Peace: Building Trust Between Nations," the event brought together leaders from across the globe.

Government officials from Turkmenistan, diplomats representing various countries, and experts from international organizations all gathered at the Institute of International Relations. Among the dignitaries were Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, UN representatives, and heads of regional branches for organizations like the OSCE and WTO. Some speakers participated virtually, including UN experts.

The conference focused on a recent UN resolution, spearheaded by Turkmenistan, that declared 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust. Discussions delved into various strategies for building trust and resolving conflicts peacefully. Experts explored the role of political, humanitarian, and diplomatic mechanisms in achieving peace. The conference also highlighted the importance of international organizations in supporting these efforts, and sharing best practices for successful peace processes.

Finally, the conference participants adopted an appeal to Turkmenistan's President, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, emphasizing the country's commitment to promoting global peace and security.
