A special briefing was recently held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan dedicated to the strengthening of Turkmen-Uzbek friendship and the 583rd anniversary of the birth of poet Alyshir Novai. The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Turkmenistan highlighted the effectiveness of friendly relations between the two peoples. They discussed the "Dashkent" park in Ashgabat and the "Ashgabat" park in Tashkent, as well as the statue of poet Alyshir Novai in "Ilham" park in Ashgabat. They also mentioned plans for a big ceremony to celebrate the poet's 583rd anniversary this year.
Alyshir Novai's multifaceted creativity and his contributions to the study of Turkic languages were discussed in detail. Alyshir Novai's works are widely studied and admired in our country, and his influence on Turkmen literature is significant. The historical and cultural ties between Turkmen and Uzbek people were also emphasized, with examples such as the performance of Magtymguly Pyragy's poems by the Uzbek people's baksheesh and the study of classical poets in madrasahs in Bukhara. These connections serve as a testament to the enduring bond between the two nations.
