In 2025, Turkmenistan will continue fostering the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises by providing loans for projects that support private business expansion. The aim is to raise the private sector’s contribution to GDP to 71.6 percent, according to official Turkmen media.
During an expanded Cabinet of Ministers meeting reviewing the results of 2024, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of private entrepreneurship in ensuring the steady growth of the national economy. He instructed the government to prioritize the development of the non-governmental sector.
Members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan play a crucial role in implementing state programs designed to increase the production of import-substituting goods, enhance exports, and develop the electronic industry.
In 2024, agricultural and food production saw a 110 percent increase, while industrial goods production rose by 104.1 percent. Additionally, the total volume of bank loans granted to the private sector, individuals, and small and medium-sized businesses surpassed previous years' levels.
